Prompt your robot
The genie failed at Disneyland, so I tried the robot at the Ghibli Museum. It would not build my website, my CRM or my newsletter either. You have to put the robot into your computer. Here is the install, two prompts.

Part two: the robot in the garden
The genie had failed, so I went to find a robot. The Ghibli Museum has one, on the roof garden, taller than a house. I gave it the list. A new website, a CRM, a newsletter. It is not working.
I bought a small one in the museum shop and put it on my laptop. That is the whole answer. You have to put the robot into your computer and prompt it yourself.
This page is the install. Two prompts, one question, about an hour.
Prompt it yourself
I am on my own computer, not a work one. What do I need before I put an AI agent on it: the plan, the accounts, the time?
What you need before you start
A computer that is yours. A Mac, or Windows 11. Not a work computer. The agent gets on with things without asking you about every step, and it can see and change anything in your home folder. That is what makes it useful, and why it belongs on your own machine.
A paid plan for the agent, because it is not usable on the free one. A phone or a second screen, because one sign-in shows a code on one screen that you type on another. A password manager, because there is exactly one thing in all of this that you must save and can never get back.
And about an hour, with a coffee. Some steps download a lot and show nothing while they do it. Every one of those tells you first.
Prompt it yourself
Check this computer for me. Is it a Mac or Windows 11, is it mine to change, and do I have the plan this needs? Tell me what is missing before we start.
Prompt one goes into your browser
Nothing is on your computer yet, so the first prompt goes into any chat you already have open. It asks you one question, Mac or Windows, and nothing else. Then it walks you through getting the agent onto your computer, one step at a time, and waits for you to say each one worked.
In this part you type the commands, because a chat in a browser cannot touch your computer. It gives you one line at a time and tells you where to type it.
The rule inside that prompt is the one worth copying for anything you do with an agent. Tell me what is about to happen before it happens. If it is slow, say how long and send me for a coffee. If the screen shows nothing while I type, say so first. If something costs money, say so before I click.
Prompt it yourself
Before each step, tell me what is about to happen: how long it takes, whether the screen will show nothing, whether a window will open, and whether it costs money. Then give me one command at a time and wait for me to say it worked.
I can help you build yours
I build things like this with an AI agent, on my own computer. In a private session I help you do the same with your idea. Or bring it to the show, free.
Prompt two goes into the agent
The first prompt ends with the agent open on your computer and signed in. The second prompt goes in there, and from then on the agent types and you watch.
It reads the installer before it runs it, and answers four questions out loud. Does it ask for a password. Does it write outside your home folder. Where does it download from. Does it delete anything. You cannot read the installer. It can, and being the one who checks is most of what it is for.
Then it runs it, two to five minutes, mostly silent. It proves it worked in plain words. It connects your accounts, each one proved to answer. When it needs a key from you, you type it in a second window, never in the chat. And it makes you one key of your own to copy into your password manager, once.
Prompt it yourself
Read the installer before you run it and answer out loud: does it need a password, does it write outside my home folder, where does it download from, does it delete anything? If any answer is wrong, stop and tell me.
The robot is in the box
At the end it makes you a first project. A folder with the right shape, saving turned on, a private copy online, and it moves you into it in a fresh window. The small robot on the laptop is now real.
Part three is what you end up with, and the first morning after.
Prompt it yourself
Make me a first project folder, turn on saving, and move me into it. Then tell me the one word that starts you from any folder.
Start with the two prompts
The two prompts are on this site, under Put the genie in the box, read from the kit itself so they are always current. Paste the first into your chat, answer Mac or Windows, and get the coffee ready.
Prompt it yourself
I have never used a terminal. Walk me through getting Claude Code onto my computer, one step at a time, and wait for me to say a step worked before you start the next one.
