Prompt It Yourself

Control the blast radius

I let Claude run two ad campaigns. The next day it was paying ten times more on the winners, and it spotted its own mistake. Why I did not worry, and the morning review prompt that keeps a new job small and inside its limits.

Ten times more

I started two advertising campaigns with Claude connected directly to my ad platform. One for the winning reels, and the other one for the test ones.

Claude spotted it

And guess who spotted the mistake? It did. It found the wrong reels, said why, and fixed the problem in five minutes.

The blast radius

You cannot prevent every mistake, but you can control the blast radius: how much a mistake can cost before somebody sees it.

Small experiments, clear limits

So when you give an agent a new job, start with a small experiment. Set a clear limit on the spend, the time and the scope, and ask for regular reviews.

The morning report

A review can be one prompt. For example, every morning: what we agreed, what worked, what went wrong, and what needs fixing.

A second agent

You can even ask a second agent to review the result on its own. It did not do the work, so it checks it with fresh eyes.

Progress, not perfection

Progress, not perfection

Be agile, fix mistakes as you go, and focus on progress, not perfection.
